Description

The new home for the Rocky Mountain Rage CHL and the Colorado 14er’s NBA D-League teams is a 6,000 seat arena which will house not only hockey and basketball, but concerts and 25 other special events. The incredibly short schedule drove the construction team to quickly work through design and fabrication so L.P.R. could work long days erecting 1500 tons of structural steel under 65,000sf of metal deck.
2 months after breaking ground, L.P.R. started erecting steel and less than 4 months later, L.P.R. topped out the structure. The 8 – 192’ trusses which span the arena floor had to be assembled on the ground prior to erecting. The remaining steel was infill between the trusses and framing to house the suites and club seating.
