Description
As part of the monumental expansion at the Fitzsimons campus for the University of Colorado, the second Research Center Complex added another 560,000 square feet of space. The 12 story building was heavily design around the highly sensitive research being done there. This required 30”, 24”, and heave tube steel section to make up the braced frame in addition to several moment connections throughout the tower.
To accomplish the fast track schedule, two tower cranes were utilized to
erect the multistory building with an erection, detail, and decking crew for
each crane. As the campus grow, jobsites got smaller and jobsite organization
was key for L.P.R. to successfully erect to meet the schedule.
