Description:
Rocky Vista University College of Osteopathic Medicine is one of the newest of the 28 colleges of osteopathic medicine currently established or in development in the United States of America. Due to the aggressive nature of the schedule, the design and construction made the decision to proceed with the new 3 story building under a design-build process.
The steel proposal was submitted mid January 2007, steel design began almost instantly, Shaw Construction mobilized March 1, and the steel was topped out August 31, 2007. This speed of erection was accomplished with erector friendly connections and working with an established team. Shaw Construction’s superintendent was quoted saying, “…let me say a huge "Thank You". I can't remember in my 33 years in this business have things go so well with structural steel.”
