Description:
The new wing of the Denver Art Museum, with a most unique design
from Daniel Libeskind teamed with Davis Architecture, shall be constructed
as a steel frame with many sharp angles and a large feature, which is 100’-0”
above ground and cantilevers over 13th street. The steel team for this project
was selected early so as to incorporate the collaborative effort of all the
firms’ unique capabilities during the design phase and for complete
planning of the construction phase.
3-D modeling has been the key for L.P.R. Construction’s
engineer to plan, sequence, and eventually erect this complex project. With
3-D, connections can be analyzed from all angles and the sequencing of erection
could be accurately planned.
